Show home secrets at St. Petersfield's

Interior Designer Gemma lets you into the trade secrets of Create Homes' beautiful schemes of our Inskip show homes.

How we achieved show-stopping style at our St.Petersfield's development.

Gemma Schofield, Director of Lifestyle Interiors in Cheshire, and her team work hard to make our show homes super-stylish and irresistible!

The interior schemes of all Create's show homes' are exceptional and are designed to stand out from the competition in terms of quality, design and functionality,  right down to the last little detail.

The brief for Gemma and her team for the show homes at St. Petersfield's development in Inskip near Preston, was to evoke a relaxing countryside designer lifestyle, whilst complementing the luxury specification that Create Homes offer their buyers.

Having excellent knowledge of what was on offer at other developments in the area, Gemma and her team were able to produce stunning new interior designs for the show homes at St. Petersfield's that had an extra edge and originality to give the longed-for 'WOW' factor that every home buyer desires, over and above anything else available on the market.

Gemma's approach to the interior design of the show homes at St. Petersfield's was to be both 'bespoke' and 'exclusive'. For the first show home -The Rossall, she designed a soft pastel scheme and a stronger taupe-based scheme for the second show home - The Sowerby. Both looks also complemented the style and design of the high-quality Stuart Frazer SieMatic kitchens, which were installed in all the properties on the development.

Gemma said: "When designing for Create, we really want the finished scheme to evoke an emotion from the customer so that they are engaged with the property and it really feels like a home. We want to capture the essence of the space and sell the lifestyle, so the customer understands that they can live in this gorgeous space too and that it’s thoroughly attainable."

DESIGNER TIPS & TRICKS

Gemma and her team at Lifestyle interiors use their skills and design knowledge to pick all the right furniture and decor for the show homes to pull the schemes together. Here's some tips to get that show home feel in your new home.

FURNITURE

  • All the sofas and chairs in the show homes at St. Petersfield's were made bespoke to fit the rooms perfectly so as to give the spaces a conformable homely look, which is bang up-to-date.
  1. TIP: Not everyone wants to commission bespoke furniture but don't worry, there is so much choice on the high street, you are bound to find the perfect piece that fits right where you want it. Don't forget to measure the doorways and rooms before you buy!

SOFT FURNISHINGS

  • The curtains in the show homes are hung as two width pairs, which were heavily interlined for a high-quality feel. Cushions and throws were chosen in toning colours for each room to add continuity to each scheme.
  1. TIP: Go for blackout lining for your curtains in the bedrooms to ensure a good night's sleep in the summertime.

  1. TIP: You can use mirrors to create more design interest by choosing decorative frames in materials that match the rest of your scheme.

LIGHTING

  • The Lifestyle Interiors team and Gemma worked hard to source exclusive accessories and unique lighting from far and wide for the show homes, with many of the designs coming exclusively from Europe.
  1. TIP: Functional designer lighting, such as that for the office or bedside table, can be an inexpensive choice, but don't be afraid to spend a bit more on lighting in the key areas such as over the dining table, master bed or in the lounge, as it can really add to the drama and atmosphere of your home.

THE PERSONAL DETAILS

  • It's the small things that can add that personal touch to any home. Gemma has used beautiful ornaments and artwork to add interest and colour throughout the show home schemes. The choices have included a bespoke artwork in the form of a mural for The Sowerby, making the bedroom space totally unique.
  1. TIP: Try mixing old and new items to add a quirky statement to your modern spaces or go with a personal theme to really make the space your very own
