GET THE LOOK - The Ribbleton Show Home

The team at Create Homes knew that the new Ribbleton show home, in the exclusive and award-winning location of Elswick village, needed a REALLY SPECIAL design team to get the perfect look for this gorgeous showcase home.

Gill Mathison, Founder & Brand Director at Create Homes and her team, engaged an award-winning architect and two very special interior design teams to do the project justice. MCK architects, Lifestyle Interiors and Stuart Frazer worked closely with Create to came up with the perfect show home design. The result is not only spacious, functional and of fantastic quality, it provides a luxury lifestyle both inside and out, with the perfect look and feel for the ultimate designer home, in a countryside setting.

Gill said: "We are SO pleased with the design of our show home at Chapel Mill. It's really rather special. The hard work from our talented design teams has culminated in a stunning showcase home, which has a very light and airy feel that is very appealing. The beautiful views of the countryside from every window also make the home really special. I'm sure that our customers will be totally INSPIRED by the design, which will help them visualise what they could do in their own brand new home."

THE BRIEF

Create Homes commissioned a sophisticated white and grey scheme for the show home interior at Chapel Mill, taking inspiration from the timeless aesthetics of The White Company, renowned for their impeccably stylish and beautifully designed products for the home. The scheme has a light and bright feel, using natural colours & textures, with contrasting wood and brass elements to add a sense of warmth and luxury. Inside the show home you will find an imaginative & spacious open-plan layout and a wonderful new interior scheme. The home has a contemporary Shaker kitchen/diner by Stuart Frazer with an additional seating area, a separate dining room and a utility room, a boot room, a relaxing family lounge, four generous double bedrooms with a further study/bedroom, a family bathroom, three ensuites and a walk-in wardrobe to the Master.

+ Why not try some of the ideas below in the rooms of your own home?

THE LOUNGE

THE DESIGN: The light-filled lounge has a large bespoke L-shaped sofa in white, with a collection of various textured scatter cushions in natural colours & textures to add interest. The interior designer has created bespoke white storage units across one wall, featuring a log holder and a feature log fireplace, creating a cosy and rustic ambiance. Pops of brass, black and mirrored & glass surfaces and modern art all pull the scheme together, adding depth and interest to the room, whilst glamorous lighting adds a luxurious feel to the space.

THE HALL & LANDING

THE DESIGN: To infuse a sense of luxury and character throughout the home, the interior design team added beading to the hall, stairs, and landing, providing an elegant and refined panelled look. The team built bespoke slatted radiator covers to make a feature in the hall, as well as providing a shelving space for decorative items. Stunning herringbone Amtico flooring draws the eye through into the kitchen diner, adding warmth and texture to the space, complementing the oak carpentry.

DINING ROOM

THE DESIGN: The Amtico herringbone flooring follows through into the dining room, which is off the kitchen. A bespoke slatted wood-effect cover was chosen to disguise the radiator and provide shelving for ornaments and plants, and a wooden table as chosen to continue the natural theme. Again, light dining chairs were chosen to match the seating in the kitchen diner to give a cohesive look. Glamorous overhead lighting adds a WOW-factor to the space and a mirror reflects the light coming in from the French doors, which are dressed with soft floaty curtains.

THE UTILITY/BOOT ROOM

THE DESIGN: The team designed a bespoke boot room, adding a fitted bench seat and wall-to-wall shelving, which created a practical and stylish area for preparing the family dog for local walks. This area was thoughtfully styled with dog accessories, hooks for fedora hats, wellington boots, scarves, and more, adding a personalised touch. This space could also be used as a pantry, with plenty of space for storage. The utility area next to this has cabinets to match the kitchen and a floating wooden shelf, which is both functional and stylish.

THE BEDROOMS

THE DESIGN: The spacious bedrooms have luxury white linens with textured scatter cushions and throws in neutral colours and interesting textures. The padded headboards are bespoke, made by the interior design team, adding a WOW factor and sense of cosy comfort and luxury.

THE DESIGN: All the window treatments and the cushions & throws are hand made by the in-house seamstress. Neutral carpets were chosen to add a touch of luxury in all the bedrooms. The stylists have also added lighting, simple modern furniture, textured feature wallpaper in a neutral colour and additional decorative elements with brass touches to add a sense of understated luxury and warmth to the bedrooms.

THE STUDY/OFFICE

THE DESIGN: The fifth bedroom is styled as a study, with bespoke shaker-style fitted cabinetry adding a touch of traditional style. The desk and shelving unit is designed to tie in with the look of the kitchen cabinetry downstairs, and allows for tons of stylish storage space. The addition of the easy chair and table lamp make the room perfect for reading and relaxing, whilst providing tons of country charm. It’s the ideal mix of traditional and modern.

THE BATHROOMS

THE DESIGN: The four bathrooms have neutral Porcelanosa tiles with grey grout, stylish silver coloured Vitra sanitaryware and quality Hansgrohe brassware, which create a crisp spa-like feel. The design team added brass mirrors, as well as white, grey, wicker & wooden accessories to add warmth to finish the look in each stylish room.

THE EXTERIOR

THE DESIGN: The new show home at the Chapel Mill village development in Elswick has excellent kerb appeal, with traditional brick & stonework and beautiful bay windows. To the rear, the landscaped private garden is accessed through bifold doors from the kitchen and French doors from the dining room. We love to keep them open on a sunny day to bring the outside inside!

“RibbletonDesigner tips for achieving show home style

If you love the look of the show home at Chapel Mill, here's some great tips from our interior designers Hannah and Beth at Lifestyle Interiors to help you get the same look in your own home:

  1. 1. COMBINE NATURAL TEXTURES WITH WARMER FINISHES:
Create a captivating blend of natural textures, like wood and rattan, with warmer finishes such as oak and brass. This combination adds depth and warmth to your space, infusing it with a cosy and inviting atmosphere.
  1. 2. GO LARGE AND LIGHT WITH FURNITURE:
Opt for larger furniture items with clean lines to achieve a minimal yet luxurious feel. By choosing lighter colours and materials, you can enhance the sense of spaciousness and elegance in your home. This approach creates an open and airy environment, that will exude sophistication.
  1. 3. BRING THE LOCAL COUNTRYSIDE IN WITH GREENERY:
Embrace the beauty of nature by incorporating greenery into your interior design. Add stylish planters filled with lush plants and strategically place them around your home. This infusion of greenery brings the essence of the local countryside into your living space, creating a refreshing and rejuvenating atmosphere.
  1. 4. DON'T BE OVERWHELMED BY ALL THE CHOICES AVAILABLE:
If you stick to a colour palette, you won't really go wrong. It's your home, so only buy what you really like.

“We take pride in our ability to translate our clients' visions into reality and our relationship with Create Homes has been instrumental in achieving that. We look forward to continuing this successful partnership and creating more remarkable designs together in the future.” said Gemma, owner of Lifestyle Interiors, Cheshire.
