Q. Why did you choose a new build over a secondhand home?
We are a young professional couple with little DIY experience. I have to admit, initially when we started looking for our forever home, a new build was not even an option we considered because we wanted a property that was unique and had character. However, as soon as we came across Create Homes, the properties sparked our attention as brand new homes that ticked our boxes of being unique with character and most importantly being new, we didn’t need to do any renovation works. On seeing the properties online we just had to book a viewing to find out more!
Q. What do you most like about your new home and why?
We were particularly impressed with the specification of the property - our absolute favourite things about the house are the Stuart Frazer kitchen, the bay windows in the lounge and master bedroom, and also the high end fixtures and fittings such as chrome light switches & sockets and the Neff appliances in the kitchen.
Q. What do you like about the design and layout of your new home?
We are extremely impressed by the architectural design of the Create Homes properties. They are nothing like usual new builds which are quite boxy and boring, and are of much higher spec. The bay window and colour of brick were stunning and add a huge amount of character to the property.
Q. Tell us what you enjoyed about your experience with the Sales Team
We primarily dealt with your Sales Executive Gill Wilkin for the duration of our home buying journey at Create Homes. From the moment we met Gill on our first viewing, we didn’t just fall in love with the show home but also with Gill’s warm, friendly and welcoming personality that made us feel at ease.
Gill is a credit to Create Homes and was amazing with us from start to finish. Every time we visited the show home we were offered tea/coffee and a friendly chat. We really did build a great relationship with Gill, which was extremely comforting when we are making one of the biggest purchases of our lives!

PETER & CHRISTINE - CHAPEL MILL, ELSWICK
Peter and Christine Isaacs are retired and wanted to downsize to a warmer, more energy efficient, low-maintenance home after living in an older property, which they found expensive to heat and maintain. The couple moved to Chapel Mill in 2023.
Q. Why did you choose Create Homes and our Chapel Mill development in Elswick?
We wanted to live in a smaller development and Create Homes, being a local business, fitted the bill as we didn't want to move far. Elswick is near to where we lived in Great Eccleston. We visited your sites in Pilling (St. William’s Gate) and Longridge (The Sandpipers) and liked what we saw. We also found the website informative.
Q. What do you most like about your new home and why?
The Broughton is just the right size for us, even when our daughter and son in law come to stay in the summer from New Zealand. Also heat retention and insulation are other factors which make it an ideal home. We love all the rooms in our home.
Q. Tell us what you enjoyed about your experience with the Sales Team.
We found Gill Wilkin extremely pleasant and well informed and helpful, nothing being too much trouble for her. Gill has been magnificent on the journey of our house buying. From our trips to Longridge, to here in Elswick, she has been there for us. Since moving, Site Manager Paul and his team have been extremely helpful.
Q. Would you recommend Create Homes?
We would certainly recommend Create Homes to others!
ALAN & JANET - CHAPEL MILL, ELSWICK
Alan and Janet Pulfrey were looking to return to the area, initially searching for an older home, but none came up within their budget. Then they discovered Create Homes, and really liked the style & design of the homes at Chapel Mill. After viewing the show home and exploring the area, the couple decided that the combination of Elswick village life and a brand new designer home would provide them with the lifestyle they were looking for. The couple moved to the development in 2023.
Q. Why did you choose Create Homes, and this specific development and location?
It was the location that led us initially, but then we liked the house types and designs offered by Create Homes. We also liked the smaller development and the proposed landscaping to fit in with the village.
Q. What did you like most about the showhome, and did it help you to make your decision to buy from us?
The style and build quality, as well as the standard of fitting for the kitchen in the show home, helped in our decision to buy.
Q. What do you most like about your new home and why?
The layout upstairs is perfect for us, and we love the kitchen. Our favourite rooms are the master bedroom/ensuite for the bay window, size and layout, and the kitchen… for the layout, units and appliances. We think the design of the first floor is perfect. We also like the bay windows and the style of the exterior with the rustic brick, dark window frames and stone details.
Q. How have you personalised your new home?
Since we moved in, we have built a fireplace and media wall in the lounge, added cabinets to the utility area, and built a wall & door in the garage to divide it into utility room and workshop.
Q. Tell us what you enjoyed about your experience with the Sales Team?
We found Gill to be very supportive and helpful, and she was always responsive to our queries. The Site Manager, Paul, has also been helpful.
Q. Would you recommend Create Homes to friends and why?
Yes, because we are pleased with our house.
LAURA & RUSSELL - CHAPEL MILL, ELSWICK
Downsizers, Laura and Russell were after a quality designer home and village lifestyle. Excited to be moving into their new home, the couple have already got involved with community groups and are being made welcome by the villagers.
Q. Why did you choose Create Homes?
After deciding not only to downsize from our family home, but also move areas, the search was on for our new home. We looked for over a year before visiting the Create Homes show home in Longridge. We spoke to Sales Executive Gill, who was so helpful and she really impressed us by her expertise and knowledge. Within days our plot was chosen and a deposit paid for our new home at Chapel Mill.
Q. What attracted you to Chapel Mill, Elswick?
What attracted us to Chapel Mill at Elswick (AKA - the village of flowers!) was the intimate size of the development, quality fixtures & fittings and the semi-rural location. We haven’t even moved in yet, but have started to embrace village life. Russell is a member of the bowling club in the village and I attend keep fit classes and I'm about to join the WI. We can’t wait to start living in the village, as everyone has been so welcoming.

ANDREW HIND - THE SANDPIPERS, LONGRIDGE
Andrew and his new wife Charlotte love their new home at The Sandpipers, Longridge. They moved to the development in 2023.
Q. Why did you choose Create Homes?
We’d looked around for a new build for a while, but bit the bullet with this development as the houses looked better than your classic new build look. Also there was the opportunity to adapt the house to our taste as we got in before the build was complete (eg adding bifolds, electric garage door, extra plug sockets, changes to kitchen, tile choices for bathrooms and more).
Q. How was your completion process?
We didn’t have the most straight forward path to completion as there were unforeseen delays, and our mortgage offer was very close to expiring, but Create did everything in their power to get it over the line before we had to reapply for a mortgage with a hike in interest rates, which was appreciated.
Q. What was your experience of our Sales Team?
Our sales rep Gill was fantastic throughout the sale process, and continues to be a delight on site whilst the development is finished off, and similarly sales manager Georgia has been very helpful during the process too which has been great.
Q. What was your experience of our Aftercare service?
Post completion we’re really enjoying the house - yes there are ‘snags’, but that is what we expected. Create have been quick to deal with key snags, with less intrusive decorative snags left until they’ve all been identified so they can be addressed in one clean sweep which is fair enough. In all fairness to Create, everyone we’ve dealt with has been very friendly and helpful.
Q. Would you recommend Create Homes?
Whilst we don’t plan on moving house again for a long time, we would definitely be considering Create developments again in the future.
