New development sees launch of homes division for Create

Create, the Blackpool-based construction specialist, has launched a new division, Create Homes, and announced the acquisition of its first residential development site.

Create, based at the Whitehills Business Park, has operated for more than 10 years in the hotel, student accommodation and residential sectors, offering services including consultancy, construction, refurbishment and interior fit out.

Landmark projects for the business, led by managing director Paul Mathison and marketing director Gill Mathison, include high profile student facilities in Sheffield (368 rooms), Leicester (140 rooms) and the refurbishment of 923 bedrooms and 162 kitchens in Liverpool.

Now Create has established Create Homes, which will launch with its first project, a development of 27 houses in Inskip, in the Fylde. Work is due to start on site in mid-February, and the first home should be complete within six months, with construction of the full development expected to take 18 months. The site will include two, three and four-bedroom homes, named after boroughs of Wyre including the Winmarleigh, the stunning 4 bedroom show house.

Create was advised by Martin Long, Commercial Property partner at Napthens solicitors, on the acquisition of the site.

Martin said: “It is great news to see a successful local business expanding in this way, particularly when the property and construction sector has faced some tough times in recent years. “Create Construction has a great reputation and this new venture is a logical next step for the business.”

Gill Mathison, Managing Director of Create Homes, said: “We had been looking for some time to introduce a new, residential property development arm to our business, and felt the time was right. “After considerable research we chose the site at Inskip, a popular location, in stunning surroundings, with great access to transport networks. “This is an exciting time for us and we fully intend this development to be the first of many, in the Fylde and Wyre areas.”
