    Elswick and the nearby towns and villages offer a variety of places to eat and drink to suit everyone’s taste. The village is best known as the home of Bond’s ice cream, which has been produced there for over fifty years. The two pubs in the village offer a selection of food & ales and there is a mix of modern and rustic restaurants, charming cafés, farm shops and other food outlets close by to purchase fresh local produce. The village hall occasionally hosts an artisan food market.

    The village has a choice of several schools within its reach and for school leavers including the highly recommended Kirkham Grammar school, less than 8 miles away. There is also a wide range of colleges & universities within a commutable distance, including Myerscough College, UCLAN in Preston and Lancaster & Cumbria universities for school leavers who don’t want to study too far from home. There are regular buses that run through the village to schools and the towns beyond.
